Flow Measurement in HPLC

In 1959 when Lyle Packard and I undertook development of what became the first commercial flow-through beta-activity monitor for liquid chromatography eluates (1,2), neither of us appreciated the full potential such an instrument offered.

Modern tritium handling

As with many materials whose potential hazards were long unrecognized, or whose profligate use for so long bore no social stigma, the proper handling of tritium gas in the chemical synthesis laboratory has, until recently, not received adequate attention.

From 1993 through 2000, more than 900 Model 2 ß-RAM Flow-Through Detectors were sold. Since the introduction of the Model 3 in mid-2000, a few Model 2s have come back to us in trade for new Model 3s, primarily from laboratories that needed additional instruments and desired uniformity.
